THE FIRST EVER FUTSAL OPEN DAY IN REDBRIDGE

A day of skill, expression and fun

A Futsal Open Day run by the Freeflow Football Academy, Asian Football Network and Essex County FA proved to be a day for all football lovers. The weather was perfect and the venue at Fairlop Oaks Power league was ideal with its lovely next generation artificial pitches. The football was packed with skill, technique, flowing end to end moves, goal keepers doing step-overs, excitement and tension at the end.

The Open day was organised by Kuljit Randhawa from the Asian Football Network, Nick Perchard from the Essex County FA and Lee Hardey a Futsal Coach from the FA started the day with some Futsal training methods.

We would like to thank Kuljit Randhawa, Nick Perchard and Lee Hardey for organising the open day, from booking the venue, the Futsal coaching and ultimately providing our players with the opportunity.

There were 32 Academy players in all between the age of 10 to 14, and we decided to have a round robin format, thus allowing each team to play each other and ultimately for each team to play a substantial amount of football. The 32 players were split into six teams of 5-6 players per squad, and a round robin group league of 6 teams with the usual 3 points for a win and 1 point for a draw and the team with the most points the winner.
